From the Office of the First Selectman - Community Connections email - October 8, 2021

News for Pickleball players

There is some good news for the legions of pickleball players in Town. Your desire for more playing options is being addressed. Here is the latest from the Department of Parks & Recreation.

The tennis/pickleball reservation system will conclude after November 30.

At Loughlin Avenue courts, the tennis nets will remain up during the winter. Tennis or pickleball may be played on the courts.

At the Christiano pickleball courts, the nets will remain up during the winter.

Western Middle School tennis courts will be lined for pickleball in the next few weeks. Portable nets will be placed at WMS courts and will remain throughout the winter months. Play will only be allowed on WMS courts on the weekends. NO play is permitted during the school day.

At Binney Park courts, two tennis nets will remain up during the winter.

At Bruce Park courts, one tennis net will remain up during the winter.

As long as the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center is still operational, the building staff will schedule pickleball play in the gym. It will be on a week-to-week basis, until we have a firm date of closing for the Civic Center.
