Fairfield-Westchester Pickleball League

Private Club Pickleball

Launched in March of 2021, the League consists of 49 private clubs (and one YMCA) that particiate across Westchester and Fairfield County. You can see scores, schedules and all 49 participating clubs on the FWPL page on TennisScores.com.

Only one of the participating clubs has dedicated Pickleball courts. Most clubs convert their tennis courts to participate in the League. There are only two private clubs in Greenwich with dedicated courts.

Members of the League are private clubs where membership is by invitation only.

Membership requires sponsorship, letters of recommendation, an extensive vetting period, a two or more year wait list, and a substantial ($10-30K or more) initiation fee (plus annual dues/fees and minimums).

Pickleball is only a feasible option if you are already a member of one of these private clubs or if you have substantial financial resources and connections with existing members in order to gain membership.

The Town of Greenwich does not participate in the league.

In 2022, the 7 private Greenwich clubs participating in the Fairfield-Westchester Pickleball League include:

  1. Belle Haven Club (no courts / no public website mention of Pickleball)

  2. Burning Tree Country Club (no courts / public website mention of Pickleball)

  3. Greenwich Country Club (no public website mention of Pickleball)

  4. Milbrook Club (no courts / no public website mention of Pickleball)

  5. Round Hill Club (4 dedicated Pickleball courts, with lights - mentions pickleball on their tennis page.)

  6. Riverside Yacht Club (no courts / no public website mention of Pickleball)

  7. Innis Arden (no courts / no public website mention of Pickleball)

FWPL founder Juan Pablo Martinez Arraya, head of racquet sports at Greenwich Country Club, manages the League. He also holds clinics (mostly at private clubs) and several tournaments each year.
