Stamford Pickleball Courts, Clinics & Programs

Below is a list of Pickleball courts, Pickleball clinics and Pickleball open play, and groups that are located in Stamford, CT

These courts, programs and resources include:

  • Groups / Resources and other ways to connect with the Stamford Pickleball Community. Get involved, make Pickle friends!

  • Stamford Recreation Pickleball Programs requiring registration - clinics, leagues etc.

  • Stamford Parks open play courts, such as lined tennis courts.

  • Private facility programs like the Italian Center of Stamford, which allow non-members at a higher cost. These programs are often more expensive than city sponsored programs, but may have better availability or different quality.

This list does not include the much more exclusive CT & NY country club-based Pickleball programs which require sponsorship, letters of recommendation, extensive vetting period, a significant wait list, and a substantial initiation fee.

Connect with your fellow Stamford Pickleball Players

  • Facebook: Greater Stamford Pickleball (575+ members). Now the Stamford Pickleball Club - a 501c3. Open Group, request to join. Actively managed by J. Tomasello. Pickleball players in Stamford are struggling much like Greenwich Pickleball players. Their funding is repeatedly cut while resident demand and enthusiasm is growing.

  • Teamreach App for Greater Stamford Pickleball (download free app on phone): Join Code is GPS21 - 450+ members.

City of Stamford Outdoor Public Pickleball Courts

Stamford’s courts are pretty limited, all are shared use (Tennis/Pickleball), no dedicated courts.

  • Scofieldtown Park

  • Scalzi Park

  • Cummings Park (4)

If you know if the use of these courts requires passes, let us know!

Note that only the courts at Cummings are official because they use Pickleball nets (painted lines on each side of a tennis court). Other courts in Stamford use the tennis nets, rather than lining two courts (one on each side of the tennis net). You can bring a strap to try to lower the center of the tennis net to 34 inches but it will never be quite standard height for Pickleball (34” middle, and 36” at the ends).

Time Limits: Both Stamford and Greenwich limit play when another group is waiting to one hour. That’s a short time for doubles, and even shorter if part of that time requires you to either make net adjustments.

City of Stamford Parks and Recreation Pickleball Programs - Pre-register Only

The Stamford Parks and Rec website is a bit hard to navigate sometimes, but they do offer clinics, ‘open play’, and league play. For the latest Stamford Recreation Pickleball info, click on the button below.

Like in Greenwich, clinics often fill quickly.

Residents don’t get priority, so Stamford programs are a good alternative for those who regularly get shut out of the clinics in Greenwich. Please note that we do not know anything about the quality of the programs offered by Stamford Recreation.

Stillmeadow School is close to Eden Farms, at 800 Stillwater Road, so closer to Greenwich residents than the Italian Center. It is only 10 minutes/4 miles from the Loughlin Ave Courts in Cos Cob.

You must set up a Community Pass account in order to register. Community Pass is used in Mount Kisco and Rye Brook as well.

Pickleball America - Stamford Mall

28 indoor courts to open in the Stamford Mall, 14 of which were supposed to open in late May and has now been delayed for unknown reasons. The facility is still not open as of September 11, 2023. The founders will be holding several community events to build awareness.

To get on their email list visit: (tell’em GreenwichPickleball sent you :) We’re on their list, but we’ve gotten no status updates since the project has hit a standstill.
