Pickleball Programs & Courts Near / Outside of Greenwich

Below is a list of Town by Town Pickleball courts & programs that are located near but OUTSIDE of Greenwich.

We consider ‘near’ to be within a 25 minute drive of the center of town.

These alternative courts and programs include:

  • Other town’s Parks and Recreation programs, which allow non-residents at a higher cost.

  • Private facility programs like the Italian Center of Stamford, or the JCC of Harrison which allow non-members at a higher cost. These programs will be much more expensive than town of Greenwich programs.

This list does not include the exclusive country club-based Pickleball programs which require sponsorship, letters of recommendation, extensive vetting period, a two or more year wait list, and a substantial ($10-30K or more) initiation fee.

More Pickleball Programs Outside of Greenwich

Jewish Community Center Pickleball | Harrison, NY

Thanks to Greenwich Pickler Maureen Harrigan for sharing info about this new program!

Facility Details: Two Courts / Indoor / Lined Gym / Portable Nets

2024 UPDATE: The JCC no longer has any pickleball information on the JCC of Harrison website. Feel free to search yourself!

Information about JCC Harrison Pickleball Drop-in program 2022

The JCC of Harrison introduced Pickleball in their gym in February 2022, thanks to nets donated by Sportech in Rye Ridge. The screenshot (taken from this JCCH website page on March 23, 2022) is a bit outdated as they’ve recently added days and divided play by levels.

Mount Kisco Parks and Recreation Pickleball | Mount Kisco, NY

Many thanks to Greenwich pickler Helena Svedin for telling us about this program!

Mount Kisco is offering a LOT of Pickleball Lessons for both youth and adults, thanks to ISPA certified Greenwich instructor Helena Svedin. There are both Residents and non resident rates.

View current Pickleball info on the Mt. Kisco Recreation Fall 2023 Brochure.

They have also started a drop-in gym Pickleball program on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Fall 2023 - that allows non-residents. Updated info is in the brochure, but check out the screenshot.

Pickleball Facilities in Mount Kisco: There are four outdoor Pickleball courts at the Leonard Park Mt. Kisco facility. Distance from Loughlin Park in Cos Cob is 24 miles/28 minutes via highway. If you live in mid or back country Greenwich, it will be significantly closer!

Saw Mill Tennis Club Pickleball - Mount Kisco, NY

There is Pickleball at the Saw Mill Tennis Club in Mount Kisco, but they hide it very carefully under the Tennis tab, like most tennis clubs, there’s a bit of a love / hate relationship with Pickleball!

Bedford Hills Memorial Park Pickleball Courts & Programs | Bedford, NY

From the Fall Recreation Brochure, 2023, Bedford, NY

News Alert! 6 brand new beautiful pickleball courts (created from two tennis courts in Memorial Park) opened in August for Bedford residents and their guests. Read the Bedford Pickleball announcement here.

If you are using the courts in the off season, bring your own nets.

Bedford Hills accepts non-residents for their Pickleball pre-register programs, much like Greenwich. Greenwich instructor Helena Svedin teaches the lessons.

To inquire about participation in the new drop in program - cost went up from $5 to $10 with the new courts, contact the Bedford USPA ambassador Julia Vesei (scroll down for email).

View the Bedford Parks and Recreation fall Pickleball info, page 25-27. See image for open play info.

The NEW Bedford Memorial Park Courts are located behind the little league field - 30 miles/35 minutes from Loughlin Ave Park in Cos Cob. If you live in Greenwich in Mid or back country, they are significantly closer.

The USPA Pickleball Ambassador for Bedford is Julia Vesei. Email juves95@optonline.net for questions about the Bedford Pickleball program.

RYE YMCA Pickleball Clinics & Round Robin | Rye, NY

Screenshot from the Rye YMCA Fall Brochure - Pickleball info. Classes are generally oversubscribed.

The Rye YMCA offers a few classes in Pickleball that are open to non-members. Their sessions run for 9 weeks. The YMCA is the provider for the City of Rye programs.

To be honest, it is really frustrating to find Pickleball info on the Rye YMCA website - there is none.

The only way to find the Pickleball info is to go to their most recent program PDF. We’ve taken a screenshot of fall 2023 - but we probably won’t update this in the future. You’ll need to go to the Rye YMCA website and fish around!

A recent July 2023 article in the Rye Record about Pickleball at the Rye YMCA talked about a Rye YMCA Pickleball travel team etc, participating in the Westchester Fairfield Pickleball League. But unfortunately, there’s no info on this on the Rye YMCA website.

Questions? Contact the Rye YMCA Pickleball instructor, Tatum Nussbaum at tatum@ryeymca.org
